Cortland Inkwell Greenhouse

I've been living here for about a year so far, and I wanted to leave my honest review. The amenities are for the most part great. I have no complaints about the pool - it's spacious and looks nice. The Amazon hub room works great. The elevators are always working (in my experience). However, the gym is awful. They have lots of machines and dumbbells, but they don't keep the gym clean and we NEVER have clean towels to use. Also, we can't use the benches properly since they are always missing pieces. Some neighbors leave trash outside of their apartments and outside of the trash chute. There is always a smell of marijuana in the hallways. Kids are loud and there are a LOT of kids playing in the afternoon, knocking on doors, and being loud. We can hear everything through the thin walls, and if our downstairs neighbors play music, my apartment floor will vibrate which is really annoying. The gates are almost never working and gates have to remain open. Pest control is a joke - I keep my apartment as clean as possible and I still see roaches running around sometimes, it's gross. Also, alarms will go off for no reason! The staff is great for the most part. The apartments look nice and they include door alarms, roof fans, and tons of storage shelves. I have never experienced theft here thank God, so I would say it's safe to live here based on my experience. Maintenance is fast and helpful (except pest control).

PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE!! Move in process was a scam from the front office assistance manager Jessica! She was very rude and dismissive. our original move in date was 1/4/24 and we asked to check the apartment before putting our deposit down. There was no refrigerator in there. We requested a new refrigerator and she lied and stated they would give us one before move in and resent documents for us to sign for the 12th. Our rent was agreed upon and she stated she would keep it the same. We got the deposit in money order and started our electricity but the rent amount changed. We nicely asked about them changing it since it was agreed to stay the same and she dismissed me and was EXTREMELY rude. I told my boyfriend let’s get out of here but we wanted to go back in and speak with a manager but they locked us out. they called the authorities on us when neither of us have any criminal records and tried to frame us with something but they have nothing to frame on us because we didn’t do anything! I have proof that Jessica was lying because I have recorded calls and I have a picture of her standing in front of my vehicle although she lied saying we were a threat! AND WE DID NOT EVEN GET OUR ADMIN FEE BACK. They are STEALING FROM PEOPLE Update: 1/22/24 - After Casey response - Do not believe the response from management because Casey is the one who told Jessica to call the authorities on us without knowing all full details. We have messaged Casey and he was not apologetic at all our situation and was also very dismissive. Do not waste your time living here. They have roach issues anyways and nobody wants to deal with horrible, rude, dismissive management in the front office! Do your research on yelp please before considering living here!

Please don't be fooled by the fake reviews and the look of these apartments. I moved here a month ago and am being over run by roaches. There are roaches in the fridge. I asked management to replace the fridge and they refused. This place is infested I have never even seen baby roaches before here. Thankfully they have a 45 day guarantee and I will be leaving this property. I asked to transfer to a sister property they said I would have to pay another application and admin fee even though it's still a cortland property and refused to refund me even though I have to pack and move again after just 45 days. The neighbors leave trash everywhere. I told management I saw my neighbor leave his trash on the floor in the trash room and gave them the apartment number but they said it was nothing they could do. Someone threw up throughout the building on Halloween and just left it there. Its disgusting. I also hear things in the walls I'm sure they have mice. They are the most expensive on the block and definitely not worth it. Also, the elevator has been out since I moved in. If that's important to you as it is for me look elsewhere
